Free Image Tools Online

Image chores are usually small and urgent: fit a photo under an upload limit, convert HEIC from a phone, crop a headshot, or export a social size. This hub groups converters, editors, and generators so you can finish in the browser. Most image tools process pixels locally on your device; use that when the photo is personal or confidential.

Most image tools run in your browser so pixels stay on your device. Prefer local tools for private photos.

Social media images — Instagram, YouTube thumbnails, LinkedIn banners, and platform size exports.

Convert image formats

Change containers (HEIC, WebP, JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, ICO, and more) when an app rejects your current format.

Make graphics & codes

Build QR codes, placeholders, badges, gradients, and simple graphics without opening a design suite.

Resize, crop & rotate

Hit pixel dimensions, crop frames, or rotate/flip when the geometry is wrong for the upload.

Filters & effects

Quick visual tweaks — filters, backgrounds, and effects — without opening a full editor.

Metadata & colors

Inspect or adjust color-related helpers and lightweight metadata-oriented image utilities.

Resize, compress, or convert?

Convert first when the format is wrong (HEIC → JPG for Windows apps, PNG → JPG for photos without transparency). Resize when pixel dimensions are too large for a form. Compress when dimensions are fine but the file is still too heavy in KB.

For web performance, resize to the display size you need, then compress. For email attachments, aim for dimensions under typical screen width and a smaller JPG quality. Keep a lossless original before irreversible compression.

QR and Wi‑Fi codes live in the graphics section — generate the code, then download PNG for print or slides.

Image Tools FAQ

Do image tools upload my photos?
Most image editors and converters on FileToolsHub run in your browser. Your photo stays on the device for those tools.
HEIC will not open on Windows — what do I do?
Convert with HEIC to JPG (or PNG), then open the result in Photos, Word, or email. Keep the HEIC if you still need Apple-native quality.
How do I get under a KB upload limit?
Resize shorter edge first, then Compress Image. Repeat with a lower quality if needed. Huge megapixel phones often fail limits on size alone.
Will PNG transparency survive?
Stay in PNG (or WebP with alpha) when you need transparent backgrounds. JPG flattens transparency to a solid backdrop.
