QR Code Generator

A poster, a menu, or a Wi-Fi card needs a code people can scan. QR Code Generator builds that PNG in the browser from the payload you choose.

Six payload types

URL and plain text use the text you type. Wi-Fi builds a WIFI: string from the network name, password, and encryption (WPA/WPA2, WEP, or none). A hidden-network flag can be included. vCard writes a version 3.0 contact with name, organization, phone, email, and URL. Email becomes a mailto link with subject and body. SMS becomes an sms: link with an optional body. The payload preview under the form shows the exact string that will be encoded, truncated on screen if it is long. QR Decoder reads a code back into text. Barcode Generator is for linear retail and logistics codes, not square QR.

Size, correction, and color

Pixel size is 128, 256, 512, or 1024. The quiet zone is a margin of two modules. Error correction is Low, Medium, Quartile, or High. Higher correction survives more damage and makes the modules smaller for the same pixel size, so a long URL at High and 128 pixels can fail or look dense. Foreground and background are color pickers. Keep them high contrast. A light code on a light card will not scan. The PNG downloads as qr- plus the preset name. The preview updates shortly after you change a field. You can also press Generate.

What this tool will not do

It will not place a logo in the center, export SVG, or track scans. It will not shorten a URL. A very long vCard at a small size is a bad scan even when the library accepts it.
