Resize Image

A camera photo is often several thousand pixels wide when the slot on the page is not. Resize Image scales one upload so the width fits inside 800 pixels and the height follows the original aspect ratio.

The 800-pixel width is fixed

The page does not ask you for a width or height. The job always uses 800 pixels as the maximum width and “fit inside,” so a portrait stays tall and a landscape stays wide. Nothing is cropped. The download keeps the format the decoder reported, so a PNG stays a PNG and a JPEG stays a JPEG. There is no quality slider on this page. If 800 pixels is the wrong box, this is the wrong tool: Image Crop reframes the picture, and Image Upscale is a separate AI enlargement with its own size cap.

Resize before you compress

Throwing away pixels and then squeezing quality are different jobs. A 6000-pixel photo that you only compress is still a huge image that the layout will scale down in the browser. Run this resize when the display width is around 800 pixels or less. Use Compress Image afterward if the file is still heavier than the CMS budget. Social covers and avatars usually need an exact pixel box and a crop, not a proportional 800-pixel fit. Image Tile Mirror is a layout effect, not a size tool.

What this will not do

It will not enlarge a small logo into a sharp hero. Fitting inside 800 pixels leaves a smaller source smaller. It will not pad a square, change the background, or strip a decision about transparency beyond what the encoder already does. One file per job, up to the 25 MB upload cap. If the picture is a document for a portal, convert it to PDF instead of resizing it for the web.
