Most email-ready PDF packets need two jobs: merge separate files into one document, then compress so the attachment clears inbox limits. Merging alone often leaves a 20–40 MB scan stack; compressing alone cannot fix a folder of separate PDFs.

This workflow uses FileToolsHub’s free Merge PDF and Compress PDF tools. Keep the uncompressed merge as your archive master; send the compressed copy to clients and portals.

Step-by-step

  1. Merge files in order

    Open Merge PDF, upload PDFs cover-first, and download one combined document.

  2. Remove blanks (optional)

    If scans include blank pages, open Edit PDF Pages and delete them before merging.

  3. Compress for email

    Upload the merged PDF to Compress PDF and download the smaller attachment.

  4. Password protect (optional)

    Lock sensitive packets with Protect PDF and share the password separately.

Tips

  • Gmail and many portals cap attachments around 25 MB — compress after merge, not before.
  • Fix sideways phone scans with Rotate PDF before merging so readers do not open a crooked packet.
  • If compression is not enough, split the document with Split PDF and send parts separately.
