About Paycheck Calculator
Regular hours, then overtime
Type an hourly rate, the hours in the pay period, the hour when overtime starts, and the overtime multiplier. Hours up to the threshold are paid at the straight rate. Hours past it are paid at rate times the multiplier. The defaults are 20 per hour, 45 hours, overtime after 40, and a 1.5 multiplier. That is 40 × 20 = 800 of regular pay and 5 × 20 × 1.5 = 150 of overtime. Gross is 950. Last checked: October 2026, against paycheck().
The withholding percent is yours
The fifth field is a percent, not a filing status. Withholding is gross times that percent divided by 100. At 20 percent, 950 becomes 190 withheld and a net of 760. There is no federal bracket, state table, Social Security line, or pre-tax deduction. If you need those, add them into the percent yourself or leave the percent at 0 and read the gross. A negative rate, negative hours, or a negative percent stops the calculation.
What the pay stub is
Open pay stub writes a one-page HTML summary in a new tab. Use the browser print dialog if you want a PDF. The stub repeats the regular hours, overtime, gross, withholding, and net. It is an estimate from the numbers on this form. It is not a payroll filing and it does not pay anyone. Overtime Pay Calculator is the same hour split without the withholding field. Hourly to Salary turns a rate into a yearly figure and does not apply overtime.
