Markdown to HTML

Markdown to HTML runs the marked parser on the box. A hash Hello becomes an h1, bold becomes strong, and a link becomes an anchor. An empty box becomes an empty string.

The sample markup

The sample is a hash Hello, a blank line, bold Bold, the word text, and a link whose address is https://example.com and whose text is link. The HTML is an h1 whose text is Hello, then a paragraph. Inside the paragraph, Bold is a strong element, then the word text, then an anchor. The anchor's href is that address and its text is link. A newline follows the closing paragraph tag. A list written as dash Ada and dash Bea becomes a ul with two li elements, Ada and Bea, and a newline after the closing ul. The button reads Process. A blank box gives back an empty string, and it does not say Markdown is required. The result is text you copy. There is no .html download.

What marked does not add

There is no class on the h1. There is no wrapper document, no html tag, and no body tag. A table written in pipe syntax depends on what marked emits for that input. This page does not show a preview pane beside the HTML. HTML to Markdown is the reverse direction and uses a different library. PDF to Markdown writes page headings from a PDF, which is not this box. Fenced code in the sample was not part of the measured Hello fragment. Do not assume a language class on a code block until you paste one and read the tags.

How to check the strong tag

Paste the Hello sample and press Process. Search the result for the h1 and for strong. The link text should be the word link, and the address should be the example host. If you see the hash character still in the output, Process did not run. A list should use li rather than the dash characters. The trailing newline after the paragraph is part of the parser output. It is one newline, not a blank HTML paragraph. The sample link address is https://example.com and the visible word is link. The strong element wraps Bold only, not the following word text.

The source stays in the tab

The parse runs in this browser. The Markdown is not uploaded. Paste a note, press Process, and copy the tags. Closing the tab drops both boxes. Review the tags before you publish them. This page does not sanitize a raw HTML span that you paste inside the Markdown. An empty box returns an empty string rather than an error. The button on this page reads Process, and the placeholder already contains the Hello sample so you can run it before replacing the text. A list of Ada and Bea uses a ul and two li elements, with a newline after the closing ul. The hash heading does not receive a class. The parser output for the Hello sample ends with a newline after the paragraph.
