EPUB to PDF

A reading app will not open, and you need a PDF you can print. EPUB to PDF writes the chapter text, not the designed ebook.

Upload one EPUB, up to 25 MB. The file must contain META-INF/container.xml and a content file the container points at. Chapters are taken from the spine, in that order. HTML tags are stripped. Scripts and styles are dropped. What remains is plain text, set in Helvetica at 11 points on a 595 by 842 point page, which is A4, with a 50 point margin. Lines wrap to that width. What never reaches the PDF

Pictures, the cover, SVG art, and embedded fonts are not copied. A cookbook that is mostly photos becomes a thin text file, or it fails if the spine has no extractable text. Custom heading sizes become the same 11 point body. Tables and sidebars collapse into paragraphs. There is no page-size menu and no font menu. If the container or the spine is missing, the job stops with an invalid-EPUB message. A fixed-layout picture book is the wrong input. Open the PDF and skim one chapter before you delete the EPUB.

When you wanted the designed book

Keep the EPUB if you still want the publisher layout. This PDF is a reading copy of the words. PDF to Word can take the new PDF onward, and that step is also a text extract, not a layout rebuild. Merge PDF can attach the result to other documents. Compress PDF rewrites structure and does not resample pictures that were never included. Unlock PDF is only needed if a later file is locked. A novel with ordinary chapters is the case this export is built for. A comic is not. Print one page and see whether the line length is readable before you send the file.
