About Title Case Converter

Title case converter lowercases everything, then capitals the first letter of each word. don't stop becomes Don'T Stop, because the letter after the apostrophe is treated as a new word.

Four samples

hello world becomes Hello World. the end. becomes The End. XML file becomes Xml File, because the whole box is lowercased before the capitals are applied. don't stop becomes Don'T Stop. There is no list of small words to leave in lowercase. the is capitalized. A blank box throws Input is required. The button reads Process. The result is text in the page, not a file. A double space stays a double space. Digits are left as digits. A word that is already a single capital letter stays one capital after the lowercase step. The box is one pass. Process does not ask which words to skip, and a second press on the same result does not add extra capitals.

What this casing is not

It is not sentence case. Sentence case would leave later words lower. This page capitals every word, including a word after a period and a word after an apostrophe. It does not title-case only the first and last words of a heading. It does not know names that should stay Mc or O'. Don'T is the apostrophe rule, not a special case you can turn off. Find and Replace can change one spelling after this page if Don'T is wrong for your sentence. This page will not do that itself. Hyphens also start a new word character, so a compound such as well-known becomes Well-Known. That is the same boundary rule as the apostrophe, applied to the hyphen. A double space between words is left as a double space.

How to check the apostrophe

Paste don't stop and press Process. The T after the apostrophe should be capital. If you wanted Don't, this page will not produce it. Paste XML and expect Xml. If the output is still XML, Process did not run. Paste the end. and expect The End. with the period left where it was. The period is not a word character, so it does not gain a capital of its own. A digit at the start of a token is not uppercased, because the pattern looks for a word character after a boundary and then lifts that letter. XML file is the check for the lowercase-first step: if the result still reads XML, Process did not run on that box.

The sentence stays in the tab

The rewrite runs in this browser. The text is not uploaded. Paste a heading, press Process, and copy the result. Closing the tab drops both boxes. There is no file field and no saved history of earlier headings. The same heading can be processed again after you edit one word. The page does not offer a small-word list, so the, a, and of are capitalized whenever they stand as their own words. A line that mixes an apostrophe and a period, such as don't stop. the end., becomes Don'T Stop. The End. in one pass. hello world is the plain check: both words gain a capital and the space between them stays. There is no second mode that leaves the, of, or a in lowercase.
