The rules for writing numbers in words
Numbers from twenty-one to ninety-nine that combine two words take a hyphen: forty-two, seventy-eight. Words like hundred, thousand, and million stay singular after a number — "three hundred", never "three hundreds". You don't need commas between the groups, though some style guides allow them in very long numbers.
Should you write "and"?
British and Commonwealth English usually include it: one hundred and five. American English generally leaves it out in formal writing: one hundred five. On cheques, US banks accept either, but many people reserve "and" for the cents part ("one hundred five and 50/100").
