About Commission Calculator
Commission calculator multiplies sales by the percent and adds optional base pay. The opening fields are 20,000, 5, and 0, and both lines read 1,000.
Twenty thousand at five percent
Earned commission is sales times the percent divided by 100. Total is base pay plus that earned amount. 20,000 at 5 percent with base 0 is 1,000 earned and 1,000 total. The same sales and percent with base 500 stay at 1,000 earned and move the total to 1,500. 100 at 10 percent is 10 and 10. Zero sales at 5 percent is 0 and 0. The fields are Sales, Commission %, and Base pay (optional). The button reads Calculate Commission. The display uses grouping, so one thousand is written 1,000. A blank field throws Enter a valid number before the multiply. October 2026 is when this multiply was checked.
What the percent does not cover
There is no tier table. A second percent is not applied after the first. Tax is not withheld. The lines do not print a currency sign. A negative sales figure is not blocked. Sales of -10 at 5 percent return an earned amount of -0.5 and the same total when base is 0. A negative percent is also accepted by the multiply. If you needed a floor at zero, this form will not add one. Pay Raise Calculator changes a salary by a percent. This page does not. It only answers sales times rate, plus the base you typed.
How to check 1,000
Leave 20000, 5, and 0, then press Calculate Commission. The first line should be Commission: 1,000. The second should be Total with base: 1,000. Type 500 in the base field and expect the earned line to stay 1,000 while the total becomes 1,500. Type 0 in sales and expect both lines to read 0. The labels do not convert the percent into a decimal for you on screen. You type 5, not 0.05. Sales of 100 at 10 percent read 10 on both lines. Zero sales read 0 on both lines when the base is 0. A blank sales box stops before any multiply.
The sales figures stay in the tab
The multiply runs in this browser. The sales, percent, and base are not uploaded. Nothing is stored when you leave. A second press uses the three fields as they stand. There is no download. Type the percent as 5 for five percent, not as 0.05. The earned line ignores base pay, which is why 500 in the base field changes only the second line. A zero percent leaves the earned line at 0 and the total equal to whatever base you typed. There is no rounding menu. Two decimals are the display limit, and a whole number drops the trailing zeros, which is why 1,000 is not written with a decimal.
